Be with Damien

“Yes, Damien, come down and be with me,” Black Widow resigned.

“Are you sure, Love?”

“Yes,” Black Widow sighed. “I know that you truly love me for me, and I am sick of playing these games with people and creatures. It’s just one thing after another. At least I know that you love me.”

“Oh,” Damien assured, “but I do. I would do anything for you. I have never lost faith in you, and I never will. I know the strength you hold inside of you, and I think you are wonderful, Darling.”

“And you are, too, Damien,” Black Widow choked on tears streaking her face.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes,” she sniffled. “I just can’t wait for you to get here. I feel lost without you. I have tried for so long to be strong on my own, but I just did not want to admit that I, too, have weaknesses.”

“Everyone does,” Damien stated. “But yours are so few, and I love you. Please, Darling, do not doubt yourself. Never doubt. Doubt brings fear, and fear brings failure. I’m not saying it is easy, but stay strong, Sweetie, I’ll be there soon. I’ve longed to be with you.”

“I can’t wait to see you, either,” Black Widow said honestly. “Will you still let me be your dominatrix?”

“Only if you dress me up in drag and lead me around on a leash,” Damien teased. “You know I love your torturing me. You’ve been torturing me for years by not being with me, but I’ve waited patiently for you to come back to me. At your request, I will come to you, with leather, wax, ice and whips.”

“Hurray,” Black Widow tried to sound enthusiastic, sucking up her snot and tears. “You know it is my fertile season, right?”

“I’ve known about this time for years, Darling,” Damien cooed. “I know you have pictured our daughter, the artist with curly brown hair. She will be amazing. Please, don’t fear my death in four years. You will be taken care of.”

“At least I have four years with you,” Black Widow took a deep breath. “I try not to fear the inevitable, but I think it would be best for us to live up the time we have together. Life is short, and nothing is forever.”

“The only thing I can offer is to leave half of me with you in the form of a daughter,” Damien sighed. “I don’t even know if I am fertile enough to conceive, but we will have fun trying.”

“Aren’t you the one who said to not have doubt,” Black Widow objected questioningly. “Please, don’t put that bug in my brain now. To make doubt oblivious, we can counsel the Old One. I was inducted into his circle when I first got here, and he has always been there when I truly needed him. I have a feeling he would be more than happy to help us, as he has little time left as well.”

“I have heard legends of the Old One,” Damien detailed. “His actions are not to be forgotten easily, as his streak of kindness reaches beyond boundaries of locations.”

“I think it has something to do with his Celtic roots,” Black Widow guessed. “His knowledge stretches beyond the ordinary studies, and his magic is extremely powerful, the most powerful I’ve met. Even stronger than you in some ways, as he has age and experience.”

“I do not claim to know all,” Damien clarified.

“Neither does he,” Black Widow retorted, “but both of you are strong beings. Your knowledge is just stronger in different areas, perhaps is a better way of putting it. Either way, he is older than our ages combined, so experience must count for something. Either way, he is a great soul that will help us conceive a daughter.”

“I know that you are right,” Damien agreed. “That’s another reason I cannot wait to see you. Fear not, Love, I will be there. I look forward to spending the rest of my days with you, however short they may be. Your suffering with me will only make you stronger, and I will give all I can to our daughter. She will be strong, too. Even when you think I am gone, I will still be with both of you, watching over your every move.”
